Recruit Profile
I think that I have a really solid self-awareness. I know what I have to do to get things done in my life, in school or on the field.

Growing up I was always so busy with singing and playing multiple sports, and my social life, that I never thought seriously about focusing on lacrosse. All that changed this past spring. I ended up starting on the varsity as a freshman and we had a really good season, losing by one goal in the state quarterfinals. I played defense and led the team in caused turnovers and groundballs and was selected to the second-team All League, one of the only defenders in the league according to my coaches. It gave me a lot of confidence and the other players and my coach told me I should play club. So I talked to my parents about it and told them I really wanted to do it. So I was able to get a late tryout and made the team. It was a blast and I really loved playing for 3D and meeting other girls. I noticed how committed they were about this sport and playing it year round. My stick skills really improved from club. I proved that I can play at this level, even though I am late to the whole club scene.

I also started on the varsity field hockey team (also defense) and we had an amazing season. We went 19-1 and lost in the state semifinals to the eventual champion. Playing in those games, especially the playoffs, showed me that I didn't have to be intimidated playing as a freshman. I think that experience helped prepare me for the lacrosse season a lot. Several of the players played on both teams, so we had great team chemistry which I think is really important for success.

In terms of lacrosse, I usually play the position right in front of the goalie. I am a good communicator with the goalie and not afraid to take charge of the defense if people aren't sliding or doing their job. I am very quick and get to every groundball. Playing basketball helped teach me the fundamentals of good defense. One thing I take pride on is that I usually stop my player from scoring and hardly ever get called for fouls or reaching. I learned that footwork is the key to defense and I have been told that I have excellent footwork. Finally, I made the High Honor roll twice this year.
