A two-time MAAC Coach of the Year recipient, Wilkinson has led the Red Foxes to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship game four years in a row, has had a pair of United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-Americans and three participants in the North-South All-Star Game in that same period.

An assistant coach on the Marist staff for four seasons, Wilkinson became the fastest head coach in MAAC history to reach 50 career wins when the Red Foxes took down Holy Cross, 8-5, on March 25, 2017 in Tenney Stadium. He achieved the feat in his 86th game on the sidelines for Marist. He led the North Squad to a 17-13 victory as a head coach in the 2016 USILA North-South All-Star Game.
