Hi! My name is Kellen McInerney and I am a defenseman from Glen Rock, New Jersey. I started playing lacrosse when I was 7. I played travel for my town from second through eighth grade and started playing club for Riot Chaos in 4th grade. I have tried out and made the team every year since. I play year-round and take advantage of every opportunity to get better. This past year, I was a starting defender for Don Bosco Prep's freshman team. At the end of the season, I was awarded 'Best Freshman Defender of the Year 2020-2021'. I play base defense and also enjoy playing LSM and taking faceoffs. Along with lacrosse, I play cornerback on the Don Bosco Football team.

I am difficult to get past on defense thanks to my speed, quick footwork, strong pressure, and defensive presence. If a teammate gets beat, I'm there to slide and help every time. I am very skilled in picking off passes and am a extremely disciplined defender. I can pass easily with both hands, dodge in traffic, and can clear the ball extremely well. I have great vision on the field and can always find the open man. I enjoy weight training, growing stronger, and working on my footwork. I believe it will help me in all aspects of the game. Whatever extra work I can do to better myself I take full advantage of. Football is one of these opportunities for extra work and it has made me a very tenacious and aggressive player. I am coachable and love to hear critical feedback so I can better my game. Though all of these skills help me in my game, I feel that the traits that make me elite and separate me from the rest are my effort and toughness. I need to win.

My grades are very important to me and I take all honors courses. I have a scholarship to Bosco as a result of my good grades. I have also won a silver medal in the National Latin Exam. I am involved in service and being a part of my church community is very important to me. I am an Altar server and attend Mass with my family every Sunday. God is a big part of my life, along with my family.
