Kim Russell finished her second season patrolling the sidelines as the head women's lacrosse coach for Oberlin College in 2020.

The 2020 team was off to an impressive 4-2 start with the Yeowomen ranking second in the conference in both goals and goals per game. Additionally, sophomore Annie Payne was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week on March 9th.

In her first season with the Yeowomen, Russell led the team to a 6-9 record which included a 5-3 mark in the NCAC as the team qualified for the conference tournament as the No. 4 seed. She mentored five All-NCAC selections including first team honorees Liz Amber and Emily Berner.

Prior to coming to Oberlin, Russell served as the Director of Girls Lacrosse at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida where she oversaw the program and served as the head coach while also managing the program's camp business.

Prior to her time at IMG Academy, Russell was the first-ever women's lacrosse coach at Baldwin Wallace University where she led the Yellow Jackets to the Ohio Athletic Conference finals in three of her four years at the helm. Under her guidance, BW posted a 46-21 overall record and a .687 winning percentage. The 2017 OAC Coach of the Year, Russell coached multiple All-OAC selections and IWLCA Great Lakes Region honorees. Her 2014 and 2017 squads were OAC Regular Season Co-Champions before ultimately falling in the tournament championship games to Mount Union. Additionally, her players excelled in the classroom as she mentored CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-Americans and IWLCA Academic Honor Roll selections.

Before her tenure at BW, Russell held coaching roles with various club programs in the Cleveland area. She took on her first head coaching position in 1996 when she became the first head coach in the history of Magnificat High School in Rocky River, Ohio and is a 2018 Inductee of their Hall of Fame as a Field Hockey and Lacrosse coach (1996-2003). She was also inducted into the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame - NC Ohio Chapter as a coach and contributor in 2015.

Russell was an NCAA Division I lacrosse and field hockey student-athlete at the College of William & Mary where she earned all-region and all-conference honors before graduating with a degree in business management.
