Lauren Simko is in her first season as the head coach of the Ashland University lacrosse program.

Simko comes to Ashland with seven years of head coaching experience having spent the previous two seasons as the women’s lacrosse head coach at fellow GMAC member Ursuline College. She was named the 2021 GMAC Coach of the Year.

Prior to her time at Ursuline, Simko was the head coach for three seasons at the University of Findlay where she guided the Oilers to the 2019 GMAC championship. In total, Simko led the Oilers to 32 wins in three seasons, including a 15-4 mark in 2018.

She coached 13 All-GMAC selections while at Findlay and put four players on the all-region teams.

Simko also has head coaching experience at the University of Dallas and Cornell College.

She got her start in collegiate coaching as a graduate assistant at Lake Erie College where she earned her master’s in business administration. Simko is a 2011 graduate of Lees-McRae (N.C.) College where she played lacrosse for four years.
