I started playing lacrosse in 2nd grade at our town clinic. The summer after 3rd grade, I played on my sister's 6th grade summer 7v7 league and loved competing at a higher level and trying to get better with each game. At the end of that summer I asked to try out for a club team and have been playing with DEWLAX ever since. I have also played travel soccer since 2nd grade. In middle school I played travel basketball and tried out for a select travel volleyball team. At the end of 8th grade I was nominated the team MVP for that team. I decided to stick with soccer in high school though, and made the varsity soccer team my Freshman year.
Lacrosse continues to be my favorite sport and I hope to compete at the highest level possible. In middle school, I led my team in goals, assists, and draw controls. Unfortunately, COVID cancelled my Freshman varsity season. I used my time at home to work on strength and conditioning and stickwork. I completed the certification process to be a youth lacrosse official and had a rewarding experience as a lax referee. The past two summers I have worked as a lifeguard and volunteered as a virtual reading buddy through our town library.
I am also a serious student. I have been on the high honor roll each semester of high school. This year, sophomore year, I am taking Honors Chemistry, Honors English, Honors Algebra 2 and Spanish 3 and earned a GPA of 97.975 this marking period. I am also a writer and copy editor for my school newspaper, sports editor for the yearbook, member of the Key Club and I continue to volunteer as a virtual reading buddy. I was recently inducted into the National Honor Society. I was a starting midfielder on my high school team this season and led the team in assists (50) and total points (99), and was 2nd on the team in goals (49) and ground balls (97). I always try to be a respectful team player and leader on and off the field.
