Wagner head women's lacrosse coach Kelly McPartland has announced the hiring of former goalkeeper Lucy Darlington as the Seahawks' assistant coach.

"I'm so excited to welcome Lucy back to Grymes Hill," McPartland commented. "She's a proven winner, knows what it takes to win a championship here at Wagner, and her prior coaching experience will help us improve as a team. Can't wait to get started!"

Darlington previously served as an assistant coach at Muhlenberg College, where she helped the Mules to an 11-5 record in 2022.

At Wagner, Darlington appeared in 43 games between 2015 and 2018 and was a big part of the Seahawks' 2016 and 2018 Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament victories, serving as a team captain during her senior season in 2018.

Throughout her career, Darlington picked up 187 saves and 15 wins, including a career-high 11 victories in 2018. During her senior season, she started all 20 games, helping lead Wagner to a school-record 14 wins, the Northeast Conference championship and an NCAA Tournament first-round win. Darlington ranked 20th in Division I with a 10.05 goals-against average and was selected to play in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association Senior All-Star Game.

Darlington's rich coaching background also includes stints with Building Blocks Lacrosse, Harlem Lacrosse, and Up2Us Sports.

While at Wagner, Darlington will pursue her Master's Degree in Business Administration.
