Madison Corcoran

Profile
A defensive captain of the Div. I Old Dominion University women's lacrosse team, Corcoran brings a wealth of back line knowledge to the Cardinals' repertoire.

She was named Second Team All-Conference by the American Athletic Conference and Second-Team All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) following a season in which she ranked second on her team in caused turnovers, with 22, and third in ground balls, with 27. Corcoran, who received her Bachelor's degree in communications from ODU this past year, finished fourth-best in the American Athletic Conference competition with 1.70 caused turnovers per league game.

To add to her athletic accomplishments, Corcoran was also named to the American Athletic Conference's All-Academic squad this past academic year and earned Big East All-Academic honors in 2019-20.

Before combining for 33 caused turnovers and 38 ground balls in her two-year stint at ODU, Corcoran began her career at Hofstra University where she caused eight turnovers and grabbed seven ground balls in her freshman campaign with the Pride.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Corcoran was a standout for Greece Arcadia High School, as she was named an All-Monroe County selection as a junior and senior and was named the Salutatorian of her 2017 graduating glass.

Corcoran now joins the staff led by Michele, who was named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Empire Regional Coach of the Year and Empire 8 Conference Coach of the Year. The team was 13th in winning percentage (.900) and scored 428 total points on the year – the fifth most of any team in Division III. Fisher, who ranked second last year in Division III in scoring defense at 4.70 goals per game and in total draw controls with 310, adds a defensive-centered mind to its robust coaching battalion.
