Makaela Larkin

2024 | NY: Nanuet

Recruit Profile
I am a coachable player both on the field as well as off. I am always seeking advise on how to be a better player and teammate.

I started playing lacrosse at age 6. I played youth lacrosse for my town where I often was asked "to play up" because I was able to understand the game at an early age. I played youth lacrosse until 8th grade where I aged out of the program. I tried out for a travel lacrosse program that was run out of New Jersey at the age of 11. I made the team and I have been coached by successful high school women's lacrosse coaches from Mahwah High School, Indian Hills High School, and Northern Highlands. While in seventh grade, I was the only person asked to play Junior Varsity high school lacrosse at my school. Freshman year I made the Varsity lacrosse team where I contributed with both goals and assists while playing attack. Besides lacrosse, I play Varsity field hockey. I consider my endurance and speed as an asset to all the sports I play. In terms of academics, I maintained High Honor Roll throughout the entire 2020-2021 school year while being enrolled in Honors English, Honors Global, and Biology. As a sophomore I am now enrolled in Chemistry and Honors English. In my spare time I volunteer with Cancer Kids First Charity, my schools Red Cross Club, Smiles for Seniors Club and the Junior Chamber of Commerce in my town.

I have had the pleasure of coaching Makaela both on varsity lacrosse and varsity field hockey for Nanuet. Makaela is a hard worker, consistent, and calm under pressure. I rely on her in tight game situations and have complete confidence in her ability to perform under pressure. She comes to practice every day with a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard to improve her skills. Her teammates love having Makaela on the team. I feel lucky to have a few more years of coaching her before she moves on to the college level.

I have had the pleasure of coaching Makaela for several years. She is always willing to learn when she is on the field as well as when she is off the field. She is very competitive, works hard during practice and in games giving it 110%. Makaela strongest asset is her lacrosse IQ and She knows what to do in every situation in a game. She has a great attitude, with looking to push herself as well as her teammates. Makaela has both right and left hands and is always looking to get better. Makaela would be a huge asset to any college program. Mike Carti
