Mark Destro joined Oglethorpe as an assistant men's lacrosse coach in 2022 with over a decade of lacrosse experience, both on and off the field.

In addition to his collegiate lacrosse experience, Mark is no stranger to the Southern Athletic Association.

Prior to Oglethorpe, Destro served in automotive customer service. He was a parts associate with Carvana from October 2021 until joining Oglethorpe, and a customer specialist with CarMax from 2019 to 2020.

Destro served as Methodist University's assistant men's lacrosse coach from 2017 to 2019, and spent one season as an assistant coach at University of Mount Union in 2017. From 2014 to 2016, Destro served as an assistant men's lacrosse coach to conference rival Sewanee. Before coaching the Tigers, Destro coached high school travel lacrosse for Madlax Sports from 2011 to 2015.

Destro graduated from Liberty University in 2022 with a master's degree in business administration. He earned his bachelor's in history from the Catholic University of America in 2014, where he played lacrosse for three years. Destro also briefly attended and played lacrosse for Manhattan College and Jacksonville University.

Destro played varsity lacrosse for all four years of high school, and also participated in varsity swim and basketball. He and his wife, Anna, currently reside in Athens. Anna coaches equestrian at University of Georgia.
