Mark Griffin
Recruit Profile
I am a disciplined and aggressive team player with a strong knowledge of the game. The combination of my size, strength and speed make me a very formidable opponent.
I have been a multi-sport athlete from an early age, always trying to be as active as I can. I am lucky enough have played both varsity lacrosse and football since 9th grade, and I continue to play an impactful role for both teams. I pride myself on being able to compete at the highest level in just about anything that I do, especially on the lacrosse field. While I understand that I pass the eye test for a lot of coaches, I also want to better myself away from the team as much as I possibly can. I am a driven individual, and I will do what it takes to be a valuable and effectual player and teammate at the next level, from day one. I was delighted to be named BOTC Top 50 Sophomores for 2021, and I am determined to have a breakout Spring High School season this year. I can confidently state that whatever role I am called upon to fulfill, I will do it to the absolute best of my ability, no matter what.

Mark Griffin is an outstanding student athlete. He is a high character young man with a an incredible work ethic. I have known Mark for the past 4 years and he has been a Varsity Football Player since his Freshmen year in 2019. Mark is a very polite young man who is extremely coachable. Mark is a role model for younger student athletes and is very well respected by his teammates. Mark does everything at the highest level. Whether he is in the weight room or on the practice field, everything he does it at the highest level. Mark is a force on the football field and the lacrosse field. He raises the level of play of his teammates and forces the teams that he plays to game plan for him because of the level he plays at. Mark is a terrific student-athlete and an even better young man. It is a pleasure to coach Mark and I am excited to see what the future holds for him.

I had the pleasure of coaching Mark when he was an 8th grader who was playing on our JV team of Freshman and Sophomores. Mark was a stand out then with his size and speed while being the youngest player on our team. I now have had the pleasure to watch Mark grow faster and stronger on our Varsity team. Mark’s IQ of the game, mixed with his athleticism and size has him recognized as a top player on Long Island. Being a 6’2” strong dodging midfielder with the ability to shoot with both hands would, in my opinion, make Mark an asset to any college program. Mark has been a Varsity player in multiple sports which has shaped him into a young man who leads by example on and off the field. These qualities have made Mark a coachable player and great teammate.

Mark Griffin is a man amongst boys. He is the most prepared individual for the college game in our organization. His combination of size, speed and seemingly effortless movement is unmatched. He shoots the ball extremely well on the run with both hands but will never take a wild shot. He is always evaluating the play as it comes, while trying to take what the defense gives and moving it to someone who may have a better opportunity than him. He draws a lot of attention from just first glance and I admire is selflessness on the field. Mark is definitely a guy who is more than capable of taking over a game every single time he steps on the field and he continues to increase his confidence every time I see him.
