A four-year starter on defense and two-time captain for the Engineers, he was named to the Pilgrim Lacrosse League All-Academic Team on three occasions. Spadafora was also a four-year member of the offensive line on MIT's football team and served as a captain during his senior season.

Spadafora graduated from MIT in 2008 with a degree in mechanical engineering and then went on to receive his Master’s in mechanical engineering from Tufts University in 2015. He is currently the Director of Mechanical Engineering at a local R&D company.
