Men's lacrosse head coach Mark Wirth returns for his second season for the Hawks in the 2020-21 academic year.

In his first season as the Hawks head coach, Becker finished the season 1-3 before the NCAA canceled the remainder of all spring sports seasons due to the Coronavirus pandemic. In those four games, Wirth earned his first career win as a head coach, an 11-8 win at MCLA on March 10, the final game of the season before the cancellation.

Attackman Matt Guerin led the Hawks offense in those four games with six goals while fellow attacker Cameron Sangster finished the season with seven assists.

Wirth joined Becker after two seasons at Connecticut College as the assistant men’s lacrosse coach. As an assistant, Wirth saw all aspects of the program - from coaching to recruiting to strength & conditioning of the Camels men’s lacrosse team.

Wirth previously served as the Director of Lacrosse Operations at Lehigh University during the 2016-17 academic year. In this position, he assisted with organizing team events, building relationships with the community, recruiting, team travel, and also ran the team’s social media accounts while making them more interactive. Furthermore, he spent the summer of 2017 working as a developmental assistant coach at the U-9 level for HEADstrong Lehigh Valley.

Prior to beginning his professional career, Wirth played on the men’s lacrosse team at Lock Haven from 2012-15 as a faceoff specialist and defensive midfielder. A native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he earned his bachelor’s degree in sport administration from Lock Haven University in 2016 as well as his master’s in the same discipline from the institution in 2018.
