Dartmouth women’s lacrosse head coach Alex Frank announced Mary Kate “MK” Bonanni an assistant coach on her staff in July 2021.

No stranger to Hanover and Scully-Fahey Field, Bonanni is a former Cornell women’s lacrosse two-year captain who played for the Big Red from 2016-20. Following the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, she used her year of graduate studies to attend and play for Ohio State, earning Second Team All-Big Ten and IWLCA West/Midwest Region honors.

In addition to her start in Columbus, Bonanni has also worked at several prominent youth camps and clubs the last several years, working with beginners, middle and high schoolers before making the jump to the Division I ranks in 2021 with the Big Green.

At Cornell, Bonanni was one of the top players in the Ivy League before her senior season was cut short. A First Team All-Ivy League and IWLCA Northeast Region Second Team selection as a junior in 2019, she was also tabbed to the league’s all-tournament team. She snagged Academic All-Ivy League honors during her junior campaign and earned her first of two straight Mary-Beth DeLaney Best Defensive Player Awards presented by the Cornell coaches.

“I am so grateful and honored by the opportunity that Coach Alex Frank has given me to join the Dartmouth women’s lacrosse coaching staff,” Bonanni said. “I am looking forward to becoming a part of the Dartmouth family and contributing to the excellence and growth of the women’s lacrosse program. Go Big Green!”

In mid-July 2021 and just prior to her time working with the Big Green, Bonanni signed to play professionally with Athletes Unlimited, a new network of professional sports leagues across multiple disciplines.
