Recruit Profile
Dedicated, adaptable, team focused - agile, athletic martial artist, lifelong multi-sport athlete.

I began participating in team sports and martial arts at age 4. Between the ages of 4 and 8, I played soccer and studied Tae Kwon Do year round. At age 9, I began playing football and studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Thai Boxing along with Tae Kwon Do. At age 11, I added wrestling. At age 14, I decided to devote all of my efforts to lacrosse. I began playing lacrosse at age 9, I played rec league for a couple of years, travel 1 year, and joined a club team when I was 12. On all of those teams I was the leading scorer. To improve my skills and find better competition, I attended camps at Johns Hopkins and won spots on increasingly competitive club teams. I chose to attend Calvert Hall College High School, 30 miles from my house, instead of nearby Howard County High, because I wanted to play for and against the best players in the MIAA. Academically, Calvert Hall is much tougher than public school would have been but, it is preparing me to succeed both in class and on the field better than public school would have. I have a 3.3 GPA and take a full academic load of 8 classes a semester. The rest of my time is spent studying and practicing lacrosse. To do this, I pull together groups of players from several different high school teams and organize practices at the turf fields near my house. I use this time to not only improve my skills but, the skills of the lesser players. I was taught through martial arts that teaching skills is a great way to improve your own skills. Plus, the other guys appreciate it.

Coaches have told me that I am a coachable, quick learner. Taking a pounding on the mats has made me an agile, gritty athlete. I bring those qualities to the lacrosse field. I have worked hard to become a two-handed player and constantly work to learn and develop innovative and effective dodging and finishing techniques. What I love most about lacrosse is my teams. We have a lot great players on Calvert Hall and Koopers Black. Each player has role and when we play as a team, we are unstoppable. More importantly, the guys are not only great players and teammates, they are great guys to hang with both on and off the field.
