Recruit Profile
I am a determined, focused, vocal, aggressive and clutch team leader with great field sense. I play all year round, and train whenever I can.

I have been playing lacrosse since I was 5 years old and officially switched from defense to goal in 4th grade. I love and am dedicated to the position, the sport and my team. I have been chosen to play in a number of national teams and tournaments, including Under Armour 2019 (NJ Command team), Brine/Maverik National Tournament 3 years running, the WPLL Futures (2019), Under Armour150 Summer 2020, Under Armour All-American Junior Spotlight Invitee Summer 2020. I am in Live Like Blaine, a leadership program for young women athletes. I was on Varsity Lacrosse my freshman year, and we were the top team in the Mercer County, won the Mercer County tournament, MAPL league and the Seal tournament. I made Varsity Sophomore year but Covid cut the season! I try to play goal all year round, playing fall ball for Ultimate, winter league, in spring for my school and summer for Ultimate. I also participate in 1:1 goalie training as much as I can, even through Covid (6 feet), and go to as many goalie clinics as I can in order to increase my lax IQ, skills and abilities to lead my team from the goal. In tournaments and games, the more I play, the more pressure I am under, the better I play. I am very vocal in the cage and work with my defense and other players to ensure that we do the best job we can to defend the goal. I love most other sports, especially snowboarding in the winter. For school sports, I am on the varsity fencing team, winning most aggressive and the effort award. It has been great for my hand eye coordination and has gotten me into excellent shape! I am an avid reader, writer, and love history and the social sciences. I also have excellent grades even though my school, Lawrenceville, is very rigorous! At school, l am an editor and write articles for the First Amendment, a tour guide for prospective students and am the Big Red Dog, our student mascot! I was also on the mock trial team, and have participated in many school plays, clubs and club-run fundraisers.

Mel has the talent and drive to be a TOP goalie in the NCAA. Mel has great leadership and communication skills in the cage to direct her defense to the correct stops. Her quickness in the cage allows her to make some incredible saves on a consistent basis.

D1 Level player who will make an impact on any team who is lucky to have her. Makes the difficult saves needed to keep teams in games and is a confident leader in the cage. Quick hands, smart play, asset to any team she is on.

Mel is a strong presence in the net: making both the big momentum changing plays as well as saving the shots she should save. She is vocal, and plays strong both inside and outside of her crease. She is smart, calculated, and works hard to be the best.

Mel has increased her goaltending skills in the 6 months. She has fast hands, of good physical build, and has a strong lacrosse IQ. I believe that if she continues to focus her training and discipline, she will be a difference maker at the D1 level.

Melissa is a strong vocal leader in the net and directs the defense well. She makes the saves she should make, but makes big plays and saves the opposition's offensive momentum. She is accurate and patient on clears and is reliable when she is outside of the cage.
