Mia Fleming
Recruit Profile
Calm in the cage with excellent hand-eye coordination. Hardworking multi-sport athlete, A student, coachable, resilient.
I started playing goalie in the 4th grade and never looked back. The position suits my abilities well; quick reflexes and strong hand/eye coordination. Plus, I have never been afraid of the ball. By 5th grade I was recruited to BBL and have been the goalie for 2021 Black ever since. I made the Varsity lacrosse team as a freshman at Westfield High School. Initially I was brought in as the back up goalie and ended the season as the starting goalie with a State Sectional win. This was the first State win ever for Westfield girls lacrosse. In the championship game we defeated the defending Tournament of Champions, Bridgewater Raritan, 10-4. I had 10 saves with a 71% save percentage to help clinch the win. I was awarded Rookie of the Year 2018 for my contributions to the season. In the summer of 2018, I was selected for the 2021 Under Armour 150 team. My save percentage was 62% for the showcase which highlighted the Top 150 lacrosse players of each age group. I was a coaches choice All Star for the UA 150 showcase, 1 of 10 total selected for the 2021 class. My sophmore year, I was selected on NJ.com as "one to watch" as the starting goalie for WHS. I was named All-State Athlete of the Week and later named a Top Sophmore in New Jersey by NJ.com. This past summer I made the School Girls National Tournament team for NJ North 1, playing in the Onondaga Division. It was an awesome experience to play on the same team with girls I normally play against in high school and to end the tournament watching the Womens Final at Johns Hopkins. In addition to lacrosse, I play on the Westfield Varsity Tennis team and participate in the Spanish Club and Model United Nations. I have a 4.0 GPA and was named Distinguished Honor Roll for 2017-18, 2018-19. I am currently enrolled in Chemistry Honors, Spanish Honors, US History Honors and Advanced Algebra. I am very interested in pursuing a career in the medical field, leaning toward nursing. I volunteer through my church as an active member in the Youth fellowship program.
