Mike Evans comes to the Saint Vincent men’s lacrosse program with over 40 years of playing and coaching experience.

He began playing lacrosse at Brentwood High School on Long Island and continued his career at Brown University, where he was captain his senior year and attained 1st Team All-Ivy and 2nd Team All-America honors. Mike became a player/coach for the Pittsburgh Lacrosse Club for the next 15 years after graduating from college and then earned a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

For the past 12 years, Mike has been the head coach of the Greensburg Central Catholic High School boys’ lacrosse team. During that time, his teams won 10 section titles and one Western Pennsylvania championship. He was recognized three times by his coaching peers as the WPIAL Coach of the Year, and twice given the Sportsmanship Award by the league’s officials. No stranger to SVC lacrosse, Mike has been a volunteer coach at many of the program’s summer camps for high school players.

Currently, Mike is the Mid-Atlantic Regional Practice Director for Sheridan Healthcorp, overseeing seven anesthesia group practices. He lives in Greensburg with his wife, Marianne, and they have three adult daughters, Genevieve, Caroline and Emily.
