Molly Urbonas
Recruit Profile
Fearless, analytical, and always trying to make my game better. Three years goalie experience with a nationally ranked team.
Third year as goalie for the 2024 3D Colorado AA team. Participated in multiple tournaments on the East coast. Selected for the elite 3D National Team in 2021, and a member of the varsity team at Cherry Creek High School. Known for being quite coachable, analytical, and very competitive.
A member of the Summer 2021 internship at Columbia University which examined performance sports psychology for middle and high schoolers using information from such athletes as Simone Biles. Taking only honors courses and AP World History in my sophomore year. I enjoy chemistry and Spanish the most.
I play tennis and I am a skilled figure skater. Figure skating actually prepped me well for goaltending. How? In practice, skaters frequently hit the ice hard, so lacrosse ball hits were no big deal. Also, performances in front of judges and the audience are pressure-filled; goalie is a pressure position. Last, when practicing many skaters are on the ice, it requires you to know where everyone is and where they are going to avoid collisions; having that skill for goaltending is a huge plus for tracking opponents and teammates.
For fun in the winter I participate in Biathlon, a combination of cross-country skiing and target shooting. 2nd in Colorado State Championships 2020 U15 Girls. I love to bake desserts and read.
