Profile
Chatham University Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Morgan Comport as Cougar Women’s Lacrosse’s new Head Coach.

Comport comes to Shadyside after a three-year Assistant Coaching position at Division II Seton Hill University, where she split her time with both the Women’s Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams. In this role, she was responsible for developing practice plans and game strategies, film and statistical analytics, monitoring player academics, and all aspects of recruiting.

Under Comport’s guidance, she helped the Griffins to two straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West championship titles (2021, 2022), leading to two NCAA tournament berths following a run in 2019. These performances led nearly twenty All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference selections for her players. Academically, several student-athletes earned All-Academic Team designations thanks to her mentorship.

Comport’s coaching experience spans beyond Seton Hill. Beginning in 2020, she was named Head Coach of the Mountain State Lacrosse Team out of West Virginia. While recruiting and preparing her players for competition in premier tournaments, Comport saw to their athletic development both individually and as a team. On top of success on the field, she helped prepare her players for the recruiting process as they began their college search process as prospective student-athletes.

In her own career at Seton Hill, Comport was an all-around standout. As a three-year team captain, Comport compiled 243 career points on attack, earning herself East Coast Conference Attacker from 2010 to 2012. Her performance caught the attention of the All-American Lax Magazine, which landed her on their Second Team in 2012. In her senior season, Comport was named a North-South All-Star, capping off a successful athletic career.

Comport graduated from Seton Hill in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minors in Sociology and Biology, having earned All-Academic Team status. Just three years later, she would graduate from Seton Hill yet again, this time with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Coach Comport begins her tenure with the Cougars effective immediately ahead of the 2023 season.
