Nate Babcock

Nate Babcock was hired in August of 2017 as assistant coach of the Rhodes men's lacrosse team.

During his first year with the Lynx, Babcock helped guide the program to their first-ever NCAA appearance after the Lynx took home both the Southern Athletic Association regular season and tournament Championships.

Prior to Rhodes, Babcock was a volunteer assistant coach at Hood College in Frederick, Md. He was also the head coach of Team MD's 2018 squad for a year. Over the summer, Babcock has been involved with the United States Naval Academy lacrosse camps for the last five years

A Baltimore, Md. native, Babcock started lacrosse as a middie at the age of eight. In high school he was also on the cross country team.

Babcock is a 2015 graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland. There, he spent time as a two-way midfielder on both man-up and man-down units. His team won the 2013 Captial Athletic Conference Championship, advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The anthropology major was a three-time CAC All-Academic honoree.

After graduation, Babcock was an assistant varsity lacrosse/football coach at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts.
Babcock has three siblings. His mother Lori is the resident chaplain at UMD Baltimore medical center while his father John is a retired chief petty officer in the navy and currently teaches music and coaches middle school football and lacrosse at The Calvert School in Baltimore, Md.
