Profile
Nick Fischer heads into his tenth season with the team in 2021 having spent the first eight years as an assistant coach with the Norwich men's lacrosse program

Fischer has helped elevate a program that has amassed an overall record of 95-66 (.590) and an impressive 53-17 (.757) mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play during his tenure.

Responsible for overseeing the development of the goalies and coordinating the defense, the Cadets have excelled at limiting opposing teams from scoring. The Cadets have ranked inside the top 20 teams in the nation three times under Fischer's watch. Since taking over the defense, Fischer has helped produce 14 All-Conference defenders including two GNAC Defensive Player of the Year recipients.

That championship-caliber defense has twice helped crown the Cadets with the GNAC title and has earned the team two NCAA Division III Regional Tournament appearances.

Fischer graduated from New England College in 2010, with a 3.35 GPA and was a four-year player, as well as a team captain as a senior. During his senior season, he led the team to the Commonwealth Coast Conference finals with a 24 save performance in the semifinals and 21 save performance in the finals. He finished the year second in the conference in save percentage and was a nominee for the Commonwealth Coast Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

After college Fischer competed on the Vermont Voyageurs box lacrosse team for two years.

Fischer was a four-year Varsity starter at South Burlington High School in South Burlington, Vt. He was named First Team all-league, First Team all-state, as well as Team MVP during his senior year. He also played football and was a member of back-to-back state championship teams.

He resides in Northfield and also works in the Office of Communications at Norwich.
