Nicole Barbella has been named the head coach of womens lacrosse program begining with the 2022 season. Barbella becomes the eighth coach in program history.

Coach Barbella joins the Roadrunner coaching staff after a successful playing career at NCAA Division II Georgian Court University from 2016-2019. She recorded 73 goals, 184 assists and 257 points. During her senior season she led NCAA Division II with 90 total assists (4.74 per game). That mark is a Georgian Court and CACC Conference single season record. The Lions won three straight CACC Regular Season Championship and the CACC Tournament Championships, 2017-2018-2019. Barbella is a three-time CACC All-Tournament Team selection and a member of the 2019 All-CACC First Team All-Conference. She holds the career assist record with 184 assists and the CACC season points record holder with 117 points. Barbella was named to the 2019 IWLCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team.

While at Georgian Court, Barbella was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) along with a Student-Athlete Mentor. She earned Deans List (2015-2019) along with the CACC Academic All-Conference Team (2017-2019), IWLCA Academic Honors (2017-2018) and Division II Athletic Directors Association (2017-2018). Barbella is a member of Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma Student-Athlete Honor Society and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society.

She is the head coach at DK3 Lacrosse, coaching middle school and high school age groups. Barbella is also the head girls varsity lacrosse coach at St. Joseph by the Sea High School for the past two seasons.

Barbella is a 2019 graduate of Georgian Court University with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts-Graphic Design and was a part of the University Honors Program.
