Nicole DeSalvia is going into her third season as Head Coach for the Marlins. DeSalvia is a graduate of SUNY Cortland (12').

DeSalvia's first year coaching the Marlins was cut short as the team was beginning an upswing. The Marlin's defeated Cazenovia College (NY) on March 10th and three days later had an exciting battle against Merchant Marine where they came back from a 6 goal deficit to fall in OT in what would be the final game of the 2020 season.

In many thanks to the VWU community, the Marlins were able to play in spring 2021 through a global pandemic. DeSalvia successfully lead her team through each game scheduled with no cancellations, yet only produced 2 wins.

Spring 2022 has shown major growth in DeSalvia's program. As if April '22 the Marlins have had 3x as many wins as the previous season.

DeSalvia made her way to Virginia Beach, Va. after a two-year stint at William Peace University. A start-up program, DeSalvia used the 2018 season to recruit and build the program. In the inaugural year (2019), she led the Pacers to a 10-5 season and a berth into the USA South Conference Championship.

Prior to William Peace, DeSalvia was the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at Methodist University. There, her primary focus was working with the defensive schemes as well as the goalies. A native of Syracuse, N.Y., she also coached the Manlius Pebble Hill High School Girls Lacrosse team in 2014.

DeSalvia graduated with a Bachelor's in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland in 2012 before earning her Master's in Physical Education from the same institution in 2015.

DeSalvia resides in Virginia Beach and enjoys quad skating, biking, and beach days with her dog Jobin when she's not playing or coaching The Game.
