Profile
Nora Fallon-Oben was hired as the 13th head women’s lacrosse coach in the 53-year history of the program on June 25, 2019.

Fallon-Oben served as an assistant coach at Hamilton College for the last four seasons.

"I am very excited to welcome Nora into the Hartwick Athletics family," said Director of Athletics John Czarnecki. "Nora brings with her a broad and impressive lacrosse background, with prior experience in recruiting, player evaluation, and scouting. Coach Fallon-Oben showed a true passion and desire to be our Head Coach throughout the entire search process, and left a lasting impression with each staff member she met during the day. I expect that Nora will bring great energy to this program and lead these women to great achievements."

Fallon-Oben took on numerous responsibilities at Hamilton under Patty Kloidt. Her on-field responsibilities included helping to plan and execute all aspects of practice, with a focus on the offensive unit, evaluating players and designing workouts tailored to them, and in-game strategic decision-making. She also analyzed game film for team improvement and scouting, led offensive film sessions with student-athletes, created opponent scouting reports, and was deeply involved with the Continentals’ recruiting efforts.

While at Hamilton, Fallon-Oben played a large role in improving the team’s offense, resulting in an increase of 2.44 goals per game from the year before she arrived to her final season, as well as a 94% spike in total assists from 2015 to 2019. The Continentals won 32 games over Fallon-Oben’s four seasons, earning consecutive top-25 national rankings, a hosting bid in the NCAA Tournament, and three trips to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) playoffs. In 2017, Hamilton tied for first place in the uber-competitive NESCAC regular season standings for the first time in program history.

“I would like to thank Director of Athletics, John Czarnecki, and the search committee for giving me the opportunity to join the Hartwick team and lead this exceptional group of women,” Fallon-Oben said. “It is an honor and a privilege to be named the head women’s lacrosse coach at Hartwick College. I am very excited to have a part in continuing the success of the program both on and off the field. Hartwick offers a complete student-athlete experience with a distinguished private liberal arts education, competition in a great conference, and rich tradition in athletics and women’s lacrosse. I am eager to share my passion for student-athlete development with the Hartwick community.”
