Director of Athletics Dr. D. Scott Gines announced the appointment of Pamella Jenkins as the new head coach of the Hornets womens lacrosse team in July 2019.

Jenkins most recently served a three-year stint as Head Womens Lacrosse Coach at NCAA Div. II Notre Dame College in South Euclid, OH, where she also held the positions of Assistant Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator.

She led the Falcons to seven lacrosse wins in 2019, the most by the program since 2014. The team also recorded three conference wins last season, the most since joining the Mountain East Conference in 2015.

Notre Dame had eight MEC All-Academic honorees and one all-conference first team selection during Jenkins coaching tenure.

From 2013 to 2015, she was a member of the womens lacrosse staff at Oberlin College in Ohio, serving as an assistant coach the first two seasons before being appointed as acting head coach in the last year.

Oberlin posted a 29-18 overall record during Jenkins three seasons with the program, including a 10-7 mark (4-4 conference) while she was acting head coach in 2015. The team featured two All-North Coast Athletic Conference First Team players that season.

Jenkins college coaching resume also includes a three-year stint (2005-08) as an assistant coach at the University of Vermont of the Div. I America East Conference. The Catamounts led the America East in draw controls and four players earned all-conference recognition during her tenure.

In 2005 and 06, she was head womens lacrosse coach at Div. II New Haven (Conn.).

While serving as a professor in the Sports Management Department at Missouri Baptist University, Jenkins was tasked with starting the womens lacrosse program at the school. In addition to recruiting, her responsibilities included fundraising, budgeting and scheduling for the new program.

Jenkins is a native of White Plains, N,Y., where she first competed in lacrosse at Rye Country Day School.

She received a bachelors in Political Science from the University of Bridgeport in 2002 and a masters in Management of Sports Industries from the University of New Haven in 2005.

Jenkins is the third head coach in the eight year history of the DSU womens lacrosse team.

She is married to Kerry Jenkins, Head Womens Basketball Coach at Wilmington University. They have three children, Helene, Javin and Josiah.
