Peyton Romig joined head coach Haley Schmucker's coaching staff prior to the 2022 season following a decorated playing career at the University of Indianapolis.

Romig capped off that five-year stint as a Greyhound student-athlete by leading the program to its first-ever national title in the spring of 2022. The NCAA's all-time career leader in draw controls (890) across all divisions was named the 2021 Division II National Player of the Year by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

2021
Garnered a haul of postseason awards including Division II Midfielder of the Year and National Player of the Year from the IWLCA, consensus All-America First Team recognition, All-Midwest Region First Team, and GLVC Midfielder of the Year...also named a finalist of the DII Honda Athlete of the Year…started in all 16 games as a senior scoring 29 goals and notching 25 assists…led the nation in draw controls wth 200, averaging nearly five more per game than the next closest student-athlete...topped the team in assists, caused turnovers and ground balls…had a shot on goal percentage of .768 on the way to 29 goals on the year…also awarded CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-GLVC accolades.

2020
Broke out as a junior earning Inside Lacrosse All-America First Team honors...added to Inside Lacrosse DII Postseason Watch List following the cancellation of the season...tabbed IWLCA National Player of the Week as well as GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring four goals in the season opener against No. 8 Florida Southern, including the game-winner...totaled four goals against FSC along with 14 draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnover...tallied 95 draw controls over eight games as well as 13 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers...netted 16 goals scoring four against Lee (2/21) to match her season-best from FSC...named GLVC Academic All-Conference and GLVC Women's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

2019
Ranked second in NCAA Division II with 11.45 draw controls per game...earned All-GLIAC First-Team honors after totaling 229 draw controls, 32 goals and six assists...added 19 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers...tied own program record with 20 draw controls at Maryville (3/15)...secured double-figure draw controls on 14 occasions...recorded four hat tricks and scored at least two goals 10 times...named as IWLCA Mid-season All-America candidate...earned GLIAC All-Academic honors.
