Quinn Wiklendt
Recruit Profile
Fully ambidextrous attackman/midfielder with great field vison and lax IQ. Both quick and fast on the dodge. Multi-sport (lacrosse, wrestling, soccer) athlete with a passion for lacrosse. Highly coachable.
I will play any role and any position (X,A,M,SSDM, transition) where the coach needs me so the team can get the win. In my first 3 games of high school lacrosse I beat or tied OHSAA state assist game records so that we could win. As a sophomore I became more of a scorer, tying the #3 points in a game record for Ohio. In one game I played midfield because we needed possessions to win and I ended the game as the leader in GBs. Elite speed, great footwork from varsity/travel soccer, and great body positioning learned from varsity wrestling make me a great on-ball defender in lacrosse, evidenced in my rides and CT stats.
I started playing travel lacrosse when I was 8 years old because I did not like baseball. My parents thought that I would like it because I had been wrestling since I was 4 years old and lacrosse was a more physical game. I fell in love with the game from the minute they gave me a stick, helmet, and pads. Because of my aggressive nature, I started as a defender. I was moved to midfield after my first season because I have a lot of stamina. I ran a 23:40 5K when I was 9 years-old. In 7th grade, I played for the Detroit Catholic Central HS feeder team (Blue Brothers), and moved to attack. I really blossomed and found even greater passion. I am naturally both handed, and this allowed me to dodge from anywhere and either distribute or shoot.
I want to be a great contributor on the lacrosse team at a top 25 academic institution in college. I hope to study computer science and business. It is my goal to use my college education to work in investing, or at a technology-focused small company. I am attending St. John's Jesuit HS and have a 4.204 GPA (end of 10th) taking AP and honors classes. As a junior my goal is to make my GPA and 40 time the same.
At one point I was ranked 11th in the world for Fortnite mobile. Last Summer I did an internship at a local software company and business incubator (reference letter available) which I really enjoyed. I hope to do another internship at a venture capital firm in the future. I am also working to start a DECA team at my high school.
