Profile
Randall Swope has been the Susquehanna women's lacrosse head coach since June 2018.

Swope first joined Susquehanna in the fall of 2017 as an assistant coach before being named the interim head coach in December 2017 after Laura Moan stepped down to pursue other career opportunities. Following a national search, the interim tag was removed and Swope officially took over the reins of the River Hawks women's lacrosse program.

During her extensive collegiate head coaching career, she has coached two All-Americans, 30 all-conference selections, including 15 First Team honors, two league Offensive Players of the Year, and one conference Defensive Player of the Year.

The Annapolis, Md., native has coached three All-Landmark Conference selections in three seasons at SU thus far, including a First Team pick in 2018. The 2019 campaign saw a 1.5 game improvement as the River Hawks picked up three more wins (7-9) than in 2018 (4-9).

She arrived at Susquehanna following two head coaching stints at nearby Bucknell University, coaching the Bison in 2003 and 2004 and then again from 2012 to 2017. Swope recorded three winning seasons at Bucknell, leading the Bison to four Patriot League Tournament appearances, including the championship game in 2003 (a first for the program).

Swope ended her tenure at BU with back-to-back winning seasons in 2016 and 2017, the first consecutive winning years since 1997 and 1998. From 2015 to 2016, there was a 7.5-game improvement as the Bison finished 2016 with a 10-8 mark after going 2-15 the previous year. She currently holds the all-time coaching wins record at BU with 51 victories in eight seasons. Swope mentored 16 All-PL selections, including seven First Teamers, as well as two PL Offensive Players of the Year and one PL Defensive Player of the Year.

Following the 2004 campaign, Swope departed Bucknell to continue her international playing career while also serving as girls’ athletic director and varsity lacrosse and soccer coach at The Bullis School in Potomac, Md. In 2007, she headed west to become assistant women’s lacrosse coach and recruiting coordinator at Stanford, where she helped lead the Cardinal to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championship.

Before returning to Bucknell prior to the 2012 season, Swope had been serving as a physical education and health teacher as well as head girls’ lacrosse and soccer coach and assistant basketball coach at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C.

Her first collegiate head coaching job came the fall of 1999 at Franklin & Marshall College.
