I am a Junior defensemen at Centennial High School in Minnesota. I started playing lacrosse in 4th grade, my brother got me interested in lacrosse and helped motivate me to grow into being the competitive and aggressive player that I am today. I am proud to say I got my dad into girls lacrosse so much that he started coaching me and he's been my coach pretty my whole lacrosse career. In 6th grade my youth lacrosse team won state and we were undefeated the following season, but never got our state title again. In 8th grade I played with True MInnesota but I didn't get the full experience of showcasing my skills.
Freshman year I played on JV, and I would be called up to play on some of the Varsity games. I got gifted the best defenseman on my team. The summer going into sophomore I tore my ACL and meniscus, but I was determined to play in spring so I worked as hard as I could to get back on the field in spring. My hard work paid off in that I was back on the field for my HS sophomore year. My team made it to the section finals but lost in a very competitive game. I'm currently playing with team MN on their 2021 club team. I'll be playing in the President's cup with them 22-24 November 2019.
One of my favorite parts about playing defense is being aggressive and making interceptions; in defense I am also very communicative. As I anticipate the play or ball movement, I am always considering where the ball will be and not only where it is at that moment.
I would love to play college lacrosse because I want to continue my journey by playing at a more competitive level. I am hardworking on and off the field. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. Academically I'm looking to go in either marine biology or some type of agricultural biology. I also enjoy learning about history and algebra. I enjoy volunteering with military families and men and women that have served. I have volunteered at some overnight trips with the children of military families at the mall of america and the Minnesota zoo. I have been the boy's HS ice hockey team manager, this is year 3.
