Recruit Profile
Aggressive defender, fast, coachable, vocal, skilled footwork, determined and strong on ground balls.

Hi, my name is Sam Steiner and I play defense for Tri-State NJ lacrosse. I started playing lacrosse in 5th grade and instantly fell in love with the sport. Since then I have played for my town's select team as well as the Ramapo High School Varsity Team and Tri-State. I enjoy playing lacrosse at a competitive level and plan on continuing at the college level. Academically, I achieved solid grades and made honor roll every marking period during my freshman year. In addition to academics and lacrosse, I actively participate in many clubs such as DECA, Interact (our school's community club), Stock Market Club, and Kaiyapalooza, a school group dedicated to raising money and awareness for cerebral palsy. I also volunteer at Valley Hospital and feel a strong sense of pride in working with others and helping those in need. Making the varsity team as a freshman was a great experience and I thrived on the high level of competition. I played in over 85% all of my freshman varsity high school games and was a starter in more than half of them. For Tri-State I attended 5 tournaments over the summer of 2015 and played in every game.

Sam is an extremely smart and aggressive player, especially her 1v1 defense. Her ability to out hustle opposing players with her speed to win a 50/50 ball on the defensive end is huge which leads to great transitions! She's a very coachable player with a wonderful work ethic!

Sam is a smart and athletic defender. Her speed and anticipation makes her a huge threat defensively. Her aggresiveness results in her winning the 50/50 battle and triggering the transition. You will not find a more committed player that is constantly working grow her skills.

Sam is an extremely quick and explosive player on the field. She works hard and plays harder. She is scrappy on any 50/50 ball near her. Her 1v1 defense makes her a huge threat on the defensive end stopping top attackers in their step. She is a pleasure to coach.
