Samantha Buonaccorsi
Recruit Profile
An aggressive, hardworking, multisport athlete. Coachable and loves to learn about the game.
I started playing lacrosse when I was 7, and I have never looked back. My primary position is defense but I have started to play midfield too, and began to take draws my sophomore lacrosse season. I have been playing for Gold Star Lacrosse for 7 years.
Due to Covid-19 my freshman high school lacrosse season was canceled, but over this time I worked on my stick work and constantly ran. Midway through my sophomore year I transferred high schools to Bishop Feehan High School where I made varsity and started every game. I continue to keep up with my stick skills and lifting all year long. I also play field hockey where I have been on varsity and started every game since freshman year.
At school I participate in clubs like best buddies, SADD (Student Against Destructive Decisions), and sports debate. I am challenging myself in the classroom by taking honors classes.

Sam is the foundation of our team defense. She communicates well, understands sliding, and can play solid 1 v 1 defense. She has put a lot of time in outside of practice to improve her speed and overall strength... and it shows on the field! Sam is an excellent teammate and is well respected by both her coaches and peers. She is always a pleasure to coach!

Sam is a solid defender for our team! She works hard on and off the field and has put the time in to improve her game. She has a great understanding of team defense and communicates well with her teammates. Sam does a good job in transition because of her confidence with the ball and ability to see the field. She's a pleasure to coach and is an awesome teammate!

I've had the pleasure of being Sam's HS and Club Coach for 4+ years. Sam is such a well rounded player. I refer to her as our Swiss Army Knife. She is a lock down defender, takes the draws very well and has a great skill set on attack and even from her low D starting position was able to score a bunch of goals. Her attitude and work ethic are phenomenal. Sam transferred from her previous school last season and immediately assimilated into the culture of our program and made it so much stronger. She is well liked by her teammates and coaches and is looked up to by our younger players in the program. She's "sneaky" fast, smart and appropriately physical which her strength and size helps her to be. Our team trains year round and Sam is always a face at our Weightlifting workouts. I'm so excited to have 2 more seasons with Sam but I know she will be a great fit as a person and player at the next level. -Coach Vitelli
