6'3", confident in both hands, high lacrosse IQ, team player, strong field presence, communicator, powerful versatile shooter, coachable and ready to learn and improve, leader on and off the field.
Ever since I was little, I have been using my height to my advantage. I have been a head taller than my teammates since the first time I walked onto a lax field in second grade. Today I stand at 63, and over time I have learned to optimize my height, athleticism, and love of the game. After playing rec lacrosse, I joined Seattle Starz in sixth grade where I am currently the 2023 team captain. As a player, I am inspired by the great Starz coaches. I am energized by the drive and competitive mindset of my teammates.
As a high school player, I am a leader both on and off the field. I believe I am better when my teammates are playing their best, and I lead through encouragement, camaraderie, and hard work. I am a competitive player who leaves it all on the field whether it's at practice or a game. I am a formidable midfielder who over time has developed my draw skills, and plays with intensity at both ends of the field. This fall we organized captains practice for our team to keep up our lax skills and fitness during the pandemic.
In addition to Starz, I also play on the Garfield High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse team. During this shortened season, I made Varsity, started all the games we played, and my coach nominated me for Team Washington. I have also served as one of two representatives from my class on the high school Athletic Student Council for two years. Together we plan school events like pep rallies, the annual athletic award banquet, and build school spirit.
My athleticism is at my core and extends beyond the lacrosse field. I also run cross country and play basketball for my high school where I am a starter on the Varsity team. I have always been energized by sportconfident in my strength and energized by competition. This love extends into the outdoors including the two summers I spent backpacking, kayaking, and ice climbing in Alaska and Wyoming with Wilderness Adventures. Both summers I received the Black Circle Award given by the counselors to one or two campers in recognition of outstanding leadership and positive contributions to the group.
It is my genuine love of physical challenge mixed with the thrill of competition that makes a lacrosse field one of my favorite places to be.
