Sophia LaBanca
Recruit Profile
speed & grit combined with coachable attitude. Total team player. True midfielder. Passionate and determined.
I started playing lacrosse in 3rd grade and found a passion for it since the first day I stepped on the field. I was a gymnast for 7 years and decided to dedicate my time to lacrosse only. I’ve been with my club team for 4 years and consider those girls to be my best friends. I played varsity as a freshman and started in every game during the season as a midfielder. My strengths include my left hand, ground balls, assists, and draw controls. I’m very coachable and definitely play more for the team than myself. On the academic side I strive to be just as impactful off the field as I am on. My favorite classes are English, history, and digital communications. I am a member of both the Varsity Club and Social Outreach. I also volunteer my time coaching our towns youth lacrosse program and summer recreation programs. During off seasons, I surf and snowboard.
There are many things I’ve learned throughout my 8 years of playing lacrosse. Being a person of value both on and off the field is the foundation of it all. There’s a saying that I strive to live by and it sums up how I carry myself ..... Great players inspire themselves...but exceptional players inspire others. I hope to always prove that I’m that exceptional player.
