Sophia Leva joined the UIndy women's lacrosse coaching staff as a graduate assistant in summer 2021 following a four-year playing career at Marquette University

In the Marquette record books, Leva is the all-time leader in save percentage (.461), ranks third in career saves (245) and sits second for wins in a single season (7). Leva earned Second Team All-BIG EAST and team MVP honors in 2021 after a career-best seven wins in net along with 134 saves. The co-captain ranked No. 1 in the BIG EAST in saves (134), saves per game (8.25) and save percentage (.482) among goalies who played at least 10 games. Leva recorded a season-high 15 saves against then Top-20 ranked Louisville and again in a road win at Georgetown.

Leva obtained a bachelors degree in exercise physiology from Marquette in 2021. She was named to the BIG EAST All-Academic team three times during her career as well as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad her senior season.

A native of Macedon, N.Y., Leva was a US Lacrosse All-American, two-time All-Greater Rochester First-Team selection, two-time Finger Lakes Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-League selection. She led Palmyra-Macedon High School to two leagues championships as well as regional and sectional titles.

Leva will pursue a Masters in Sport Management at University of Indianapolis.
