Sophia Pope
Recruit Profile
Strong stick skills, hardworking, aggressive, athletic, coachable, a drive to be better, a positive attitude on and off the field
I started playing lacrosse in the 2nd grade for my town team and joined my first club team in 6th grade. I moved to the Cobra Kai Lacrosse team in the 7th grade. I have been a starter on the Clarkstown South HS Varsity team since the 8th grade. On the field, I am a smart and tough player that wins ground balls, can force turnovers on the ride, looks to make the next pass, can beat my defender, and create opportunities for my teammates. As important as athletics is to me, I care just as much if not more about my academics. I take all Honors and AP courses. I participate in the academic programs DECA, Peer Leaders, and Math League. I am apart of the National Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, the National Mathematics Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta), and the National Art Honor Society. I volunteer throughout the year at different events with the Assets club. I volunteer to coach k-2 girls lacrosse for our town team, Lightning Ladies Lacrosse. The past two summers I have volunteered helping out at Dip n Dunk Lacrosse camp.
