Stephanie Teipel
Recruit Profile
I am hardworking, coachable, well liked and respected by coaches and teammates, and academically high achieving. I am an athletic goalie, playing year round Lacrosse, Field Hockey and Swim.
I started playing goalie for soccer in Kindergarten. The coach made everyone take a turn in goal so they would have empathy toward the goalie. I loved it and always volunteered for goal. I played soccer through 8th grade. In 4th grade I started playing Field Hockey. I volunteered for goal and was always sought after to 'play up' for older teams. I still play in High School and club.
I was late to Lacrosse, starting in 7th grade. My very first Lacrosse game I saved over half the shots, shocking both teams. I was recruited to play Triple Threat Elite that summer, which I continue, and I play for my High School.
Just to keep things interesting, and stay in condition, I am also a swimmer in the Winter season, swimming club since I was 6. Now that I am in high school I will only swim for my school as my T3 Elite is year-round.
I am an "Athletic Goalie" it is because in addition to playing T3 Elite Lacrosse year round I also play 3 seasons of High School sports, earning Varsity as a Freshman in all three sports.
In addition to sports, I am academically High Achieving. I have a 4.2 GPA in a STEM/Honors track. My SAT scores are R710, M760 (1470). In past NJ State tests I routinely performed greater than 95th percentile.
To round out my profile, I will tell you about my personality. Not just anyone can thrive in the cage. I have the view of the entire field and must communicate with my teammates and earn their respect so they listen to me. I am loud so my teammates across the field can hear. I have to assume leadership responsibility for my team. I also have to have the guts to stand in the cage, and come out as necessary, and dive when needed, to do everything in my power to stop that ball. Lastly, I have to be the heart of the team. I may not get the glory of the score the other positions get, but I have the burden of being the last line of defense. Sometimes we lose, and I must pick up myself and the team to regroup.
I can bring so much to a team: athleticism, grit, and heart.
