Profile
I have been the Director of Athletics since 2011 and Women's lax coach since October, 2019. I am a firm believer in our relentlessly positive approach!

Peed has served as the Mariners' Director of Athletics since 2011 and took over the womens lacrosse program in the fall of 2019. His third season as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, 2022, was the first full season at the helm.

In that first full season, his team defied expectations. Picked to finish sixth in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) preseason poll, Maine Maritime advanced to the NAC Championship game. Without any seniors and only three players on the roster that had ever played a game together, the squad posted 8 wins, the most in the six full seasons of lacrosse at Maine Maritime. The team picked up the first postseason win in program history, defeating Cazenovia College in the NAC semifinals.

The 2022 Mariners produced the NAC Rookie of the Year in First-Team All-NAC selection, Hazel Stoddard. Stoddard finished the regular season fifth in NCAA in Division III in goals and sixth in goals per game. She was one of six all-league nods with the Mariners landing three on the All-NAC First Team and three on the All-NAC Second Team. One of the first team selections and one of the second team selections had never touched a lacrosse stick prior to the season.

Peeds passion for the program runs deep. In 2013, he announced the formation of a women's lacrosse program, beginning with a club year in 2014 before transitioning to NCAA play in 2015. His desire to establish a lacrosse culture was realized in 2022 when both the mens and womens teams advanced to the NAC Championship games. The mens team hoisted the hardware for the first time in 2022.

Peed came to Castine from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., where he served as the Associate Director of Athletics. While at F&M, Peed worked closely with the women's lacrosse team, which advanced to five NCAA Division III National Championship weekends winning national titles in 2007 and 2009. Prior to his service at F&M, he was the Sports Information Director at McDaniel College from 2001 to 2006.

Peed graduated from McDaniel College in 2001 with a B.A. in Political Science. He was a four-year member of the football team and a member of the wrestling team. He earned a Master of Science in Sport Management at Drexel University in 2010.
