Recruit Profile
High IQ, creative, strong dodger and shooter, coachable and eager to learn and improve, quick learner, self-driven, disciplined, and excited to pursue academics and athletics at the next level.
I started playing competitive lacrosse full-time when I was 9. Throughout my youth career, I was named a captain of my travel teams and was a leading scorer as a midfielder. When I was 11 I was pulled up to play u13 and when I was in 7th and 8th grade I played in high school divisions. My notable academic achievements throughout my 3 years in middle school were getting all A's in every marking period and being selected for the Duke Tip program in 7th grade. Freshman year I was named a starting midfielder and in 3 games I scored 4 goals and had 2 assists until my coaches moved me to attack where I started the next 2 games. Before the 2021 season, I attended the Nexstar National Showcase where I was named a standout player and was mistakenly thought to be a lefty in my write-up due to my proficiency with both hands. In the spring of 2021, I was named a starting attackman and I led my team in goals, assists, and overall points with 3.2 ppg. I also earned all district-honorable mention honors. I recorded 4 hat tricks, 8 multi-goal games, and 9 games with at least one goal and assist. My notable performances were a 6 point performance against Boca High, a 3 point performance against #1 Saint Andrews, and a hat trick including the game-tying goal in an overtime win against Wellington. Over the past 2 years, I enrolled in challenging courses at the American Heritage School in Delray, FL. Freshman year I made the Headmaster's list on 2 occasions while holding a 4.0 GPA in all honors classes and in Sophomore year I held a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 5.0 weighted GPA in all honors and AP courses. I am also a member of NHS. This year I transferred to Western High School and I'm continuing to challenge myself academically by taking 3 AP courses and 3 honors classes. Besides my academic achievements, I have also accumulated 165 volunteer hours. My junior year I transferred to Western High School where we reached the Regional Semifinals and I was named a captain, a 2nd Team All District and 1st Team All County player, and the second highest scoring midfielder on the team. This year I got a 1400 on my SAT and have a 3.9 unweighted GPA and a 5.3 weighted GPA.

John Davis
Tanner is an excellent student, teammate, and person. His character is second to none, and he will make a great fit in any competitive NCAA roster as a leader, and a team player. Tanner's style of play is that of an offensive initiator. He is an excellent downhill dodger, and has great placement in his shooting. Whether he is played at attack, or offensive midfield, he has great field awareness, and can be relied on to gain separation from a defender and create uneven situations. Any further questions about Tanner can be directed to his head coach, Doug Shanahan (dshanahan@truelacrosse.com), or myself (john.w.davisjr@browardschools.com).
