The Montevallo women's lacrosse team welcomed Taylor Johnson to its staff as an assistant coach.

Taylor Johnson joins the Falcons after spending the past two seasons at York College of Pennsylvania where she served as an assistant coach. In her role with York, Johnson held responsibilities such as planning and executing the traditional and non-traditional seasons, provide academic oversight of student athletes, perform film breakdown and generate scouting reports for upcoming games, planning and implementing daily practice plans and game plans, assist in daily player development through coaching at practices, scheduling and conducting individual sessions, and film breakdown. Johnson also gained experience in working with goalies and conducting individual goalie sessions, identifying, evaluating and recruiting academically prepared students in accordance with college policy and NCAA regulations, planning team meals during travel, along with oversight of the team social media accounts. During her tenure at York, Johnson helped coach the Spartans to a 4-1 record in 2020, and a 12-3 2021 record including a No. 16 IWLCA ranking and a trip to the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship.

Johnson graduated from Shippensburg with a degree in Human Communications and a minor in athletic coaching. She served as an assistant coach for her club lacrosse team, Looney's Lacrosse, in 2017 and was also on staff at Carlisle High School. Johnson was the head JV coach at Bel Air High School in the spring of 2018.

She was a four-year letter winner and a three-year starter at Shippensburg University where she played in the attack for the Red Raiders. Johnson played in 62 games for Shippensburg notching 47 points on 26 goals and 21 assists. Johnson also had 48 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers and five draw controls.
