I have competed athletically since a very young age. Whether it was youth travel soccer, swim team, recreation basketball, crossfit or triathlons I have always enjoyed competition, pushing myself and being on a team. I started playing lacrosse in kindergarten as I watched my mother coach both club and town teams and my older sisters play lacrosse for both. I joined our club team Dewlax in the 3rd grade and played with mostly 4th graders that year. Having been around lacrosse my whole life (my mom played at Maryland and Temple and has coached both our town team and our club team Dewlax for the past 10 years), I feel that I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about the philosophy and strategy of lacrosse and what characteristics make a great lacrosse player. My experiences in other sports most notably swimming and triathlons have also developed in me a strong sense of pushing myself past what I thought my physical limits were. My experience as a goalie in soccer developed the mental toughness to not get to down and move on to the next play. My experience in crossfit (I used to go with my mom when I was in elementary and middle school) has developed in me physical strength that is so useful on the draw circle and on defense. As a member of our high schools field hockey team, I thoroughly enjoyed learning a new sport and applying what I have learned in other sports to it.
