Longtime lacrosse coach Tom Carmean joined the KSC program ahead of the 2019 season and again for the 2021 campaign.

The former head coach at Amherst College and Guilford College, Carmean brings 19 years of head coaching experience, and a career as a collegiate standout and professional player to the Owls.

Carmean spent 11 years as head coach of Amherst, leading the team to an 82-76 record. Amherst earned 10 men's lacrosse All-America honors and 14 All-NESCAC First Team selections during Carmean's time, as well as two Conference Player of the Year awards. Notably, his nationally ranked 2004 squad featured a conference-high six All-NESCAC selections and the Rookie of the Year.

In 2010, Carmean moved to Guilford College (N.C.), where he developed 16 All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selections, including two-time pick Adam Fiore. Fiore graduated in 2016 ranked third in school history with 212 career points, a 3.93 points per game average. Carmean was a three-time All-America selection at the University of Massachusetts and an 11-year veteran of professional lacrosse. During a standout collegiate playing career he was recognized as one of the top attackers in the nation, twice leading the Minutemen to the NCAA Quarterfinals before graduating with a degree in English in 1988.
