Will Richer
Recruit Profile
Disciplined, strategic player with a tireless work ethic, a coach-described "scientific study of the game" and a passion for the responsibility and camaraderie that comes with being on a team.
I started playing lacrosse in third grade. My first club was a unique combination of public and private school students from highly diverse backgrounds - some very fortunate and others who struggled to afford basic equipment. We were never the best team, but we worked hard, had fun and formed lasting friendships. That early experience helped me realize that playing lacrosse is a tremendous privilege and that supporting my teammates on and off the field is the most important and rewarding element of the game.
My video and stats provide a good summary of my lacrosse skills and accomplishments, so I won't repeat them here. Mentally, I approach the game with passion, emotion and an unselfish desire to win. I'm comfortable playing a contributing role, as I do on the 2023 True Indiana State Team, winner of the 2021 Midwest Prime and NXT MidAmerican Invitational tournaments. And I embrace the responsibility of leading Park Tudor Lacrosse as team captain, a role I was elected to by my coaches and teammates after only my first high school season.
Off the field, I am a dedicated student enrolled in AP classes, nearly fluent in French and active in Park Tudor's Key Club and globally recognized Model UN. I enjoy shooting well over par on the golf course and played several years of competitive tennis, depending on how you define "competitive." Anywhere you find me, you'll find music from Kanye to Brad Paisley to Ariana Grande to the Rolling Stones. And as my parents will attest, I'm a super talented sports watcher of the Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers, Tottenham Hotspur F.C., Chicago Blackhawks and the greatest football team of all time - the Chicago Bears.
I may not be the biggest nor fastest player amongst the thousands hoping to play in college. But I love this game - the work, discipline, emotion and competition. What differentiates me is my tireless work ethic, my coach-described "scientific study of the game," and my passion for the responsibility and camaraderie that comes with being part of a team. As I learned in third grade, playing lacrosse is a privilege, and I'm looking for the privilege of contributing any way I can to the success of my teammates, my team and my school.
