Zack has been playing lacrosse since he was 6 years old. In High School he was the first Freshman (2018) to make the Varsity team in recent history.
2018 (Freshman): Saw action in 15 games; 8 as starting goalie and 7 as No. 2 goalie ... recorded 78 saves, and a .523 save percentage in 456 mins. of work ... had a season high 13 saves on 20 shots against Jordan, a conference rival, in an 8 7 victory came off the bench in the state playoff game to make 5 saves on 8 shots in the 2nd half against a loaded Middle Creek Mustangs team that included 5 D1 players and were the 2016 North Carolina State 4-A Champions.
2019 (Sophomore): Saw action in 11 games; 6 as a starting goalie and 5 as a No. 2 goalie recorded 67 saves and a .528 save percentage in 377 mins of work had a season high 14 saves on 21 shots in a conference game against Cary recognized as MVP of the Panther Creek game, a conference rival, after saving 9 of 16 shots and making 4 saves in overtime to secure the win ...recognized as Player to Watch for 2020 season on Lax Records. Awarded MVP for Duke Run with the Best Showcase.
Athens Drive High School: Started freshman year on Varsity and Varsity letter recipient freshman and sophomore year awarded Academic All-Conference freshman and sophomore year.... plays club lacrosse for Team 91 Carolina Canons...was invited and played for Carolina National 2021 team going undefeated and winning the Boathouse National Tournament in 2018 has made the Academic Honor Roll every semester since attending Athens Drive Magnet High School.
2020 (Junior) Strong leadership. High School season cancelled due to Covid. Continued workouts and travel team tournaments with Team 91 Carolina.

Enjoys fishing and hunting on the family farm playing in the church basketball league, golf. Is part of the Magnet and Health Sciences program at Athens Drive Health Sciences Academy. Is interested in Business Management. Completed NFHS Captains Course, OSHA certification and internship with Raleigh Orthopedics in 2020

Nick Holota
Zack is an athletic stopper that does a great job with his outlets and command of the defense. Drives well to the ball on outside shots and has good reflexes inside to steal a goal or two a game, with no big weaknesses Zack does a great job in net.

Tom Wetherby
Zack has been a varsity member since his freshman year, starting 8 and 6 games in those 2 years. He played in over 75% of all games and compiled an impressive 53% save percentage during this time saving 145 shots. Zack has excellent technique and excels in outlets for clears.
