Recruit Profile
I will be the hardest working player on the team. I am coachable with a team centered mentality. I understand complex defenses, and exhibit strong leadership.
My Lax Life
Since I was little I wanted to be a football player and a professional snowboarder. All I thought about was football or doing my best Shaun White impression on the slopes. When I was nine years old my friends told me to come to check out indoor LACROSSE! I borrowed some pads, a helmet, and a stick and went out on the field. I had no idea what I was doing but curiosity about the game took over and I started to read, and became obsessed. I drove my family nuts with the constant pounding of wall ball in our basement and my stick came everywhere with me. Always cradling and dodging against street signs, trees, etc. Needless to say the game caught my attention early and I was hooked instantly.
I had ambitions to play attack until our town league coach asked me if I wanted to try defense. The adjustment to the long pole came easy and as an aspiring football star, the contact was a bonus. As my skills grew and the level of coaching increased. I became very interested in the strategy of the game. I learned it wasn't always about the hard checks but also position, containment, finesse, and most of all selflessness.
By the end of my sophomore year, I had decided that I wanted to dedicate my attention to lacrosse training and knowledge. I have had exceptional coaching from people that have helped me develop the fine points and the details it takes to play my position and become a student of the game. Always aiming to get better I like to pick the brains of attackmen and middies about what defenders do that make their jobs hard and I try to perfect those skills.
I am very comfortable in man, zone, or some type of hybrid defense. I do not let my pride get in the way of development or team success. I am always striving for balance between lacrosse, school, friends, and family. I view lacrosse as the reward I receive if I have taken care of the other facets of my life.
My goal is to find a team, a coach, and a school that will help me continue to develop and provide structure to college life. I want to be an asset to a program with the ability to grow my leadership skills for the future.
