Lara Kruck
Recruit Profile
Coachable, Determined, Enthusiastic, Team before Me Attitude, Willing to put the team on her shoulders
I started playing lacrosse when I was 7 years old. From 3rd grade to 5/6th grade I was playing defense. I loved it but it wasn't my favorite thing. When I was in 5th or 6th grade my rec team needed a goalie. I never even thought about it but then decided to step up and try it out to help my team because they had no goalie. During my 8th grade year of Rec lacrosse, I earned the Brave Heart award for always stepping up, helping my team, and being a team leader. My freshman year was a little rocky from a knee injury so it wasn't great. But, as the season went on I played goalie with another sophomore on JV and it was a great learning experience.
I love helping people and helping them go through different scenarios that they are struggling with. I help out with the Best Buds program at my High School. This is a program to help the special ed kids to be more involved, we play games, do activities, and have fun! Something that I was doing during the Covid-19 virus was donations. My High School Lacrosse team organized soup donations for the local essential workers. My dad helped with making the soup and we got all the ingredients from local farms.
Lacrosse has changed me so much for the better because it has shown me that with hard work, dedication, heart, having confidence, and believing in myself that anything is possible. I know that today I am a better person and student because through all the circumstances I have been through on and off the field. I will always dream big.
I was also selected as one of two County Leaders for the Tyler Clementi Foundation, whose mission is to end online and offline bullying in schools, workplaces, and faith communities.
