Sophia Chiodo Ortiz
Recruit Profile
multi-sport athlete, coachable, team player, disiplined, aggressive, fast and agile- will do anyting to get the ball
I started playing lacrosse at the age of 13 as a seventh grader. I use my speed and determination on the field to drive to goal, get open, recover/redefend, and look for the next open pass. I started in the midfield position for Wissahickon High School as a freshman, was the 3rd leading scorer, and received honorable mention in the Suburban 1 League. As a sophomore I transitioned to playing attack where I was able to score my 100th goal, earn the title "Offensive MVP", and be chosen as 3rd team All-League for Suburban 1. I am comfortable dodging my defender around the 8 meter, cutting to ball, and finishing strong to goal. I also play on my school's Varsity soccer team and run Varsity indoor track. I was a competitive elite gymnast for 10 years before I started lacrosse giving me loads of body control at an early age. Academically, I was in all honors freshman year, continued to take all honors sophomore year, and next year as a junior I will be enrolled in three AP courses. I am an officer of the F.A.N.S. club and a general member of Wiss Pals, WissLink, Mini Thon, and 11th grade committee.
