Sydney Pyon
Recruit Profile
Multi-sport student athlete, skilled, team player, strong dominant and non-dominant hands, coachable and disciplined, and works hard year round.
I started playing lacrosse in 5th grade and instantly fell in love with the game. As a midfielder, my quickness and stick skills help me excel in draw controls and transition game. I pride myself on working hard to improve my game on and off the field and being the best teammate I can be. I was recently awarded The Ambassador Award at my high school. This is an honor to recognize those who exemplify leadership, sportsmanship and what being a great teammate should be on and off the field.
I also enjoy running competitively as a member of the varsity cross country and indoor track teams. Last season, I ran a personal record time for the 5K race which was also the 4th fastest time of a sophomore in my school’s history! Academically, I have a 6.13 weighted GPA (4.0 unweighted) and am currently taking AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP United States History, AP Language and Composition, and AP Spanish.
In addition to balancing both sports and school, I enjoy being involved in my community by holding an officer position in the Student Council, and being a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Annenberg Science Symposium Team, Peer Counselors, Mini-THON Leadership Team, and Future Medical and Science Careers Club. I am also apart of a tutoring program and help students learning Chemistry.

Heather Wentz
Sydney is a true two-way midfielder with excellent fitness. She shines at 1v1 defense and has become an extremely valuable member of our midfield/defensive units. She has also improved her offensive tactics, keeping her head up and always looking to drive.
Katie O'Donnell
Sydney is a versatile midfielder with strong stickwork and fitness. She has good field vision and hustles between the 30’s. Her defense is her biggest strength and makes an impact on the attacking end.
Jennifer Purvis
Sydney has always been a very sound lacrosse player but this year her intensity has really stepped up. She is currently playing with our varsity-level girls and fits in incredibly well. She is balanced with both hands, a smart shooter, a tough defender, and an all-around fantastic student-athlete.
