The Blue Chip Lacrosse Camp had its first camp in the summer of 2001. That year the camp was sponsored by STX and was held at the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. Eighty-two rising senior lacrosse players from across the country came to the first camp. Over forty-four NCAA Division I coaches from the top programs in the nation came to watch. The camp stayed at the McDonogh School in Owings Mills through the summer of 2005. For those four years the camp was filled with 120 players from across the country. Over ninety percent of the players from Blue Chip went on to play at NCAA Division I colleges. Each year, over 95% of NCAA Division I lacrosse programs send coaches to recruit players at the camp.
