A native of Davison, Michigan, he played four seasons for the Tech and finished his career with 144 ground balls, six goals and seven assists, while going 362-636 (57%) on faceoffs. He was an All-Conference selection by both the CCLA and WHAC his senior season. Maciomei is also the head varsity boy's lacrosse coach at Bishop Dwenger High School in Fort Wayne.
